It’s been a while since I went for a walk. It was so good to be out in the wind and snow and sky.

By the time I turned back, the sky was beginning to colour. Sunset was coming. And the next morning there is a -30*F windchill.

The woods need more snow for winter, and the fields need snow.

Today we are getting a Christmas snow. Soon, maybe, there will be time to go for a walk.

The sun sets at 4:30 p.m., but before it does there is the most blazing golden hue thrown on treetops and branches.

One of the many things I love about winter is the chance to sleep late in the morning and still get up with the sun.
