Rose-breasted Grosbeak
I was standing on the edge of the field. I heard some beautiful bird song nearby, and this bird landed on a branch. First he showed me his back. Hmm, interesting.
Then he hopped around and I could see his true colours: Amazing!

I was focusing my camera on the distant ducks when this little guy motored into my field of vision. He was fast. I don’t think I’ve seen a Pied-billed Grebe before. Fun.
Wait. Why in the world is this beautiful creature called Wood Duck?! It should be called the Da Vinci Duck, the Van Gogh Duck, or the Renoir Duck, because it is such a masterpiece of contrasting colours and vibrant tones. Pure beauty.
