Snowstorm, pt. 2
The temperatures have been hovering around 0°C, so the snow is only slowly melting. Many trees are down because the snow came so early this fall that the trees were still in leaf, and so more of the heavy wet snow stayed on the tree. The winds did the rest of the destructive work.
The paradox of nature…great beauty and great power to destroy and undo.
Snowstorm
I went for a walk yesterday afternoon. Though the snowstorm has been difficult because of power outages and downed trees and branches, we saw a lot of beauty.
Early winter snowstorm
It started gently, with snowflakes coming down last night. But the forecasted winter storm possibility became all too real overnight and now there are a couple of inches of snow on the ground and more falling. The trees still have leaves, so there is more snow accumulation and therefore more branches and trees breaking in the wind.

A walk at night
I was glad I decided to go for a walk in the pasture last night. We are a few days away from a full moon, but it was so bright I could walk without a light.
