I was standing on the edge of the field. I heard some beautiful bird song nearby, and this bird landed on a branch. First he showed me his back. Hmm, interesting.

Fragrant Bedstraw

Here’s a pretty little plant. I have not yet dried the leaves of fragrant bedstraw to try the fragrance. They are too pretty to pick!

I was focusing my camera on the distant ducks when this little guy motored into my field of vision. He was fast. I don’t think I’ve seen a Pied-billed Grebe before. Fun.

Wood Duck

Wait. Why in the world is this beautiful creature called Wood Duck?! It should be called the Da Vinci Duck, the Van Gogh Duck, or the Renoir Duck, because it is such a masterpiece of contrasting colours and vibrant tones. Pure beauty.
